Is this set up fast enough for import as well? Cause I am thinking of buying airport extreme to import the footage directly onto USB storage connected to it. And also does it work with Leopard?

One more thing would similar method work with Final Cut ?

P.s. thanks for the info I was surfing the net for 2hours to decide whether I should buy airport extreme or other APs.

Yes, yes, no idea, I’ve never used final cut with anything slower than an xsan hooked up with fibre. I’d assume so.

Graham, do you think this would also work with the Time Capsule using either Ethernet or Wireless Connection?
Many thanks for your response.

Just delete the symlink and move the folder back to where it should be. No terminal needed.

Graham, awesome tutorial and much appreciated by someone who has never used Terminal or knows anything about Unix file commands. I spent at least two hours trying to wrap my brain around this idea of creating a symbolic link based on other forum posts about how to solve the problem of getting iMovie to see my events files on an external hard drive connected to my Airport. Forums like this:
http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=88135
and this: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080204152429462

I even downloaded and installed MakeSymlink. All too much information. Your video was super simple and solved the problem in just a couple of minutes.

Thanks Much!
